Modern and centrally located apartment in the heart of Bologna.

This spacious first-floor apartment (no elevator) opens onto a bright living area featuring a sofa bed that can accommodate up to two guests, a TV, a kitchen island with stools, and a fully equipped kitchenette with a refrigerator, freezer, induction hob, microwave, kettle, and coffee machine.
The apartment also offers two double bedrooms and a bathroom with a shower.

The apartment takes its name from Augusto Righi, who was born here on August 27, 1850, and later became a professor of physics at the University of Bologna. In 1893, Righi began his most important research into electromagnetism and wireless communication. Among his students was Guglielmo Marconi, who attended his lectures and, during those years, became acquainted with the research that would contribute to the birth of radio and, over time, to the development of modern communication technologies.
The building dates back to 1762 and was designed by Alfonso Torreggiani, an important eighteenth-century Bolognese architect. It was commissioned by the family of Giovanni Battista Graziani, probably incorporating earlier service structures belonging to the adjacent Palazzo Bentivoglio.
Of particular artistic value are the loggia and the impressive monumental staircase leading to the apartment. Despite the limited dimensions of the space, Torreggiani succeeded in creating an environment of remarkable grandeur, almost like a small Baroque theatre.
Art historian Eugenio Riccomini described it as a kind of “puppet theatre,” in which the architect recreated the entrance hall and grand staircase of a noble residence, adapting them to the dimensions of a bourgeois home.
The House of Augusto Righi therefore tells a unique story: built in the eighteenth century as an elegant Bolognese residence, it later became closely associated with the memory of a scientist whose research helped pave the way for the revolution in modern communications.

Located right in the heart of Bologna, the apartment is surrounded by bars, cafés, restaurants, and all essential amenities. It is just a short walk from the city's main attractions. The train station is also within easy reach, and nearby Via Irnerio offers numerous bus connections to all areas of the city.
